Day 1: Mombasa to Amboseli

Mombasa is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Kenya. Once you land in the town, you can take some time to visit the beaches, the cool landmarks such as Fort Jesus, and local markets for souvenirs. Not forgetting, Kenyan-style meals such as Biryani, Pilau, and Nyama Choma. Once you settle in, be sure to get rested, as the next few days will be nothing short of thrilling.

At 7 am, you will board the famous Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in the morning. You will take the Madaraka Express on a first-class cruise to Emali. You will arrive at 11 am, where a driver will pick you up and take you to Amboseli National Park. This is a 2-hour drive, so you will arrive just in time for lunch.

After checking in and enjoying your meal, you will go on an afternoon game drive. This stunning park has the famous Mount Kilimanjaro as its backdrop. Therefore, as you go on this drive, you will see its peaks.

The park has five habitats, including the wetlands with sulfur springs, the woodlands, and the savannah. Expect to see ostriches, lions, elephants, crocodiles, wild dogs, and cheetahs. After this, you will head back to your accommodations for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Amboseli to Tsavo West

We encourage you to wake up early so you can catch the sunrise as it washes over the peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro before dropping on the park. You will enjoy a lovely breakfast with a view of this lovely scene.

After this, you can check out and head to a bird-watching session. Amboseli National Park is home to about 600 species of birds that fly overhead and land in various habitats through the park. Bring your camera and throw in some bird calls for an immersive experience. After this, your driver will take you out of the park en route to Tsavo West.

You should arrive in time for an early lunch then embark on an afternoon game drive. Tsavo West is home to a wide range of animal and bird species. The game drive will introduce you to big cats such as lions and leopards, elephants, zebras, and other types of grazers. If your visit is lucky, you may even get to see hunters stalking their prey. 

The drive back to your accommodation will be filled with the relaxing sounds of animals tuckering away for the evening. Then, as the sunset bathes the park, you can enjoy a lovely view before sharing in a lovely dinner and resting up. 

Day 3: Tsavo West to Tsavo East

In the morning, you will check out after breakfast and head to Mzima Springs. Mzima Springs is home to various aquatic animals. It is characterized by crystal clear waters that flow melodiously; it is surprisingly relaxing.

While you are here, you will see hippos, crocodiles, and various species of fish. If you are fortunate on your visit, you will also see the monkeys. After this, your driver will take you out of the park and drive to Tsavo East, just nearby. 

You will drive into the park, starting the experience with a game drive. This is your first encounter with the many species of the park, including big cats, elephants, and grazers. Next, the driver will take your party over to your accommodations for lunch and checking in. You can also take a shower and freshen up for the afternoon game drive.

Tsavo East is just as magical as the west park. On top of multiple mammal species, you will enjoy scenic backdrops ideal for pictures. The interaction with animals is authentic, and you are sure to capture Instagram-worthy pictures of the animals. You will then go back to the accommodations for dinner and rest. Additionally, be sure to enjoy the amenities to help you relax. 

Day 4: Tsavo East to Mombasa

Lastly, the fourth day is a great chance to enjoy the rest of the park before you go back. You will begin with an early morning game drive within the park. This is the perfect opportunity to interact with the early risers as they go to watering holes and graze. Be sure to enjoy the sunrise over the gorgeous savanna.

You will then go back to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Then, the driver will take you on a fun game drive where you can catch the hunters stalking and feeding on prey. Also, you may meet with the lovely species of birds as they fly overhead sharing melodious tunes. Get the last few pictures before leaving the park and heading back to Mombasa. At an extra fee, you can hit the local markets for souvenirs before you can go back to your accommodations.
